Shri Vinoba Bhave College of Nursing is the pioneer institution of Nursing Education in Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Dadra and Nagar Haveli is a district of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu in western India. It is composed of two separate geographical entities: Nagar Haveli, wedged in between Maharashtra and Gujarat states 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the north-west, the smaller enclave of Dadra, which is surrounded by Gujarat. Inception of Shri Vinoba Bhave College of Nursing, Silvassa is the dream and effort of former Director, Dr. V K Das. The Institution has opened the doors to equal opportunity, with a motto of spreading Free and Quality education to the Tribal Girl Children . The nursing institute has been contributing to the preparation of clinical nurse practitioners, educators and administrators. Thus it is serving to promote health, prevent sickness and provides bedside care to the sick and suffering. Teaching lays emphasis on quality education by rigorous practice for clinical skill development. Currently the institute is running two educational programmes i.e. B.Sc. nursing (4 yrs) and M.Sc. nursing (2 yrs) in five specialities Paediatric Nursing; Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing; Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing; Community Health Nursing; and Medical Surgical Nursing. Both graduate and postgraduate courses are so designed that all students put in 4-5 hours clinical work daily through out their academic course.
